Silver vs White Gold vs Platinum

Some of buyers are confuse what is the difference of Silver, Gold and Platinum.

IS PLATINUM IS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN WHITE GOLD AND SILVER?

*The answer is YES, platinum is very expensive metal
a platinum wedding ring is almost twice the price of an 18 karat white gold ring.

WHITE GOLD

*White Gold is an alloy of gold and some white metals like silver and palladium. There are several carats available for gold.

The karat is the gold content of the metal. The karat measures the proportion of pure gold mixed with other metal alloy to make up the final metal.

White gold can be in any karat, 14 karat, 18 karat or 24 karat, 18 karat white gold is made by mixing 75% gold with 25% of other metals such as silver and palladium.
White Gold rings are also coated with another white metal called Rhodium.

The Rhodium plating is used to make the white gold look more whiter because the natural color
of White gold is light grey color.

PLATINUM

*Not all Jewelry store have Platinum rings due to its higher price.
Platinum is a white metal so it does need to be Rhodium Plated.
and its heavier than sterling silver and to 18 karat white gold

SILVER

*Silver is a white-grey colored metal and softer than gold and platinum
Silver is also more prone to oxidization, and sometimes causing the silver to turn black.

IS THE COLOR OF PLATINUM AND WHITE GOLD ARE THE SAME?

*It will depends if the white gold is plated to rhodium or in natural color
If a white gold ring is rhodium plated (actually most of white gold rings are plated in rhodium.) you cant see the color difference of white gold to Platinum.
